Building the right cage: Modifications to a cyanine photocage and cyclofen payload enabled fine spatial control over long‐wavelength Cre‐mediated recombination. When installed on both the cyanine cage and the cyclofen payload, lipophilic n‐butyl esters facilitated cell uptake and enabled spatial patterning.
