What a send off! By coupling light‐dependent protein recruitment to the cytosol with a photoactivatable nuclear localization signal we have increased the dynamic range of a generalizable system for sending proteins to the nucleus with light. We show that the system is functional in mammalian cells, yeast, and C. elegans. (LANS=light‐activated nuclear shuttle).
