Efficient synthesis of enal compounds was accomplished through formylation of alkenylzinc reagents with S‐(4‐nitrophenyl) thioformate. This reaction proceeded to completion under mild reaction conditions within 10 minutes, affording various enal derivatives in good‐to‐high yields
