Tolerant enzymes: Nitriles are widely utilized by the chemical industry. Recently, an enzymatic approach to the synthesis of nitriles has been developed with aldoxime dehydratases, which catalyze the conversion of aldoximes into nitriles through dehydration. This review provides an overview of the enzyme properties and substrate scope for this method.
