A rhodium(III)‐catalyzed C−H activation and thiolation of azobenzene with disulfide was developed. A broad range of azobenzenes were thiolated with high regioselectivity to form mono‐ortho‐substituted products in moderate to excellent yields of up to 99 %. The catalytic system could also be applied for the synthesis of a selenylated product and a benzothiophene.
