A highly diastereo- and enantioselective [4+2]-cycloaddition reaction of 1-acetylcyclopentenes and 1-acetylcyclohexenes with cyano-group-containing enones is described. With 20 mol-% chiral primary amine catalyst and 2-fluorobenzoic acid as an additive, high yields and good to excellent enantioselectivities are achieved.
