Citric acid recovery without the sour taste: The conventional method for citric acid recovery after fermentation is not ideal, as not all citric acid can be recovered and the consumption of chemicals, as well as the production of waste, is problematic. The use of a poly(4-vinylpyridine) resin can help overcome these obstacles, rendering the fermentation of citric acid more eco-friendly and economically benign.
