Anodes for SIBs! Co9S8 containing 5.5 wt % Co (Co9S8/Co) is prepared using a solid-state reaction and used as an anode electrode for sodium-ion batteries. The electrochemical properties of the material are studied in carbonate- and ether-based electrolytes (EBE). The material has a longer cycle life and better rate capability in EBE, which is attributed to a low apparent activation energy and a low overpotential for Na deposition in EBE.
