What promotes psychiatric intervention implementation?

Although efficacious interventions for preventing and treating psychiatric disorders have been developed, broad implementation of these interventions has been elusive.1 As such, strategies are needed to address both the research-practice gap, which refers to the fact that most evidence-based interventions are not routinely implemented,2 and the treatment gap, which refers to the fact that most people with mental illness do not receive care.3 For example, eating disorders are one of the most prevalent psychiatric problems that affect women and are characterised by physical and mental impairment, distress, and morbidity; yet 80% of affected individuals do not receive treatment.
