Torture survivors often present with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD),2 psychological comorbidity,2 and serious physical impairment,3 yet interventions for survivors lack a clear evidence base.3,4 Psychological responses to torture can be complex, encompassing alterations in emotion regulation capacity, impaired interpersonal processing, reduced perceptions of control, and identity loss.
