Interacting nicely: Herein, we describe a new gel-based strategy coupled with activity-based probes to visualize and assess functional interactions, including protein–protein interactions, between aryl carrier protein (ArCP) and adenylation (A) domains as well as the substrate specificities of the A domains. This technique should facilitate biochemical, structural, and activity studies of highly specific, dynamic, and transient interactions.
