Smart Designs of Zeolite-Based Catalysts for Dry Reforming of Methane: A Review

Dry reforming of methane (DRM) is a promising way of transforming greenhouse gases into syngas products and value-added chemicals. Owing to their strong CO2 adsorption, ordered pore structure, and high surface area, zeolites have been widely applied as the catalyst or the support of catalysts for DRM. In this review, the synthesis and modification strategies of zeolites are comprehensively summarized. Besides, the structure–performance relationship is elucidated by referring to the compositional/physicochemical properties of zeolites and catalytic performances in DRM. In addition, zeolite crystal structures are introduced in classification, and the impacts of reaction parameters on the activity/stability are discussed in detail. Lastly, conclusive remarks and prospects are proposed for reference.
