Dear Readers, As we step into the 10th year of publication of ACS Infectious Diseases, it is with great enthusiasm that I share with you some pivotal developments related to our journal. In response to the ever-expanding landscape of infectious diseases research, we have undertaken an initiative to broaden our scope, to encompass a wide spectrum of topics. In addition to the existing themes of the scope, our journal now also welcomes manuscripts that explore diverse aspects of infectious diseases, ranging from chemistry-driven immunomodulatory therapeutics to host-directed antimicrobial therapeutics, novel biomaterials mitigating infections, mechanistic understanding of inflammation and infection interplay, and host–microbiome and pathogen interactions within the context of infection, immunity, and inflammation. This expansion is an earnest attempt toward encouraging contributions from researchers across various disciplines, facilitating a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives converge to address the complex challenges posed by infectious diseases. The hope is to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary perspective on infectious diseases, encouraging contributions that bridge traditional boundaries and push the frontiers of knowledge. In alignment with our renewed focus, I am pleased to introduce two esteemed colleagues who have joined our Editorial Board. Prof. Mark Brönstrup, an accomplished researcher from the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Germany, assumes the role of Associate Editor. He currently leads the Chemical Biology department at his institute. Prof. Brönstrup has a diverse portfolio in infectious disease research, encompassing therapeutics, mechanism of action studies, diagnostics, and host–pathogen interactions through omics studies. His research primarily targets bacterial and viral pathogens, drawing from his experience in both industry and academia. Additionally, we welcome Prof. Yuan Qiao from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore as our new Topic Editor. Dr. Qiao, an Assistant Professor at NTU, investigates the molecular signals used by gut microbiota to communicate with the host, aiming to understand the mechanisms underlying microbiota-related diseases. She also develops chemical approaches to profile and characterize microbiota-derived signaling molecules involved in bacteria–host crosstalk, primarily focusing on bacterial and fungal pathogens. Concurrently, as part of our commitment to expanding the scope and inclusivity of ACS Infectious Diseases, we are delighted to announce the reorganization of our Editorial Advisory Board (EAB). The EAB now mirrors the expansive range of topics within the journal, featuring representation from various research areas. Our EAB members proudly represent 15 different nationalities, across six continents, reflecting in a way the global collaboration that is essential for tackling infectious diseases on a broader scale. Furthermore, we are excited to announce the establishment of an Early Career Board (ECB) at ACS Infectious Diseases. This initiative aims to provide a platform for young researchers from different backgrounds, and currently 12 different nationalities, promoting inclusivity and innovation in the field of infectious diseases. I take this opportunity to reiterate our commitment to build a collaborative community that thrives on diverse perspectives. We invite all of you to be part of this exciting journey, contributing your research to a journal that embraces the complexity of infectious diseases and values the richness that diverse viewpoints bring to scientific discourse. I am looking forward to continued support and engagement of the infectious diseases research community with ACS Infectious Diseases. This article has not yet been cited by other publications.
