This work established a versatile modular approach for constructing a library of layered hybrid superlattices consisting of alternating layers of atomic crystals and self-assembled molecular layers. The systematic study reveals the underlying principle for the general assembly of a diverse set of artificial solids with designable structural motifs and widely tunable physical properties.
