Fast-response and high-responsivity FAxMA(1−x)PbI3 photodetectors fabricated via doctor-blading deposition in ambient condition

Hybrid organolead halide perovskites, a class of materials used in optoelectronic devices, have attracted significant attention due to their performance and fabrication process. This paper reports on a pinhole free, compact, high-quality, mixed-cation (consisting of formamidinium (FA) and methylammonium (MA)) FAxMA(1−x)PbI3 polycrystalline perovskite film prepared in a one-step solution process using a doctor-blading deposition technology under ambient conditions with no subsequent annealing. A perovskite film domain size of up to 100 μm was obtained. A FAxMA(1−x)PbI3-based photodetector using a simplestructure glass/FAxMA(1−x)PbI3/Au device was fabricated. Ultraviolet (UV) high photoresponse reached the near-infrared (NIR) range. Its best responsivity (R) was 10.57 AW-1 with a response speed of ∼9.0 ms. Results indicate that this technique results in high-quality, phase-pure, FAxMA(1−x)PbI3 perovskite films and high-performance optoelectronic devices.
