A hybrid organic mesoporous silica monolith adsorbent has been designed for selective silver recovery from e-waste samples. The retention of the organic structure and orientation along the hierarchically ordered mesoporous monoliths enables the multiple-use recovery, collection, and management of AgI ions, without alteration in their functionality and capacity.
