On Oct 25, 2017, a parliamentary inquiry into electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) was launched in the UK. The Science and Technology Committee will investigate the health effects of e-cigarettes, as well as their effectiveness as smoking cessation tools. Written submissions are invited on addiction to e-cigarettes, their use among young people, and their potential for renormalising smoking. An estimated 2·9 million people use e-cigarettes in the UK.
