Bis-acetyl carbazole-based fluorescent photoremovable protecting groups (FPRPG) have been synthesized and used for the sequential release of two different functional groups such as carboxylic acids, alcohols, thiols, and amines. Studies on a synthesized drug delivery system (DDS) demonstrated the applicability of the dual release ability of our system in vitro.
