Crystal clear: Linear bifunctional polymer precursors are conveniently synthesized from castor oil derived renewable substrates by applying an orthogonal tandem system consisting of two in situ formed catalytic species. Selective product crystallization is developed to ensure both the recovery of the active tandem system and a high-purity monomer.
