Lanthanide tetrafluoroterephthalates Ln2ftp3·6H2O (Ln = Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er, Tm, Yb), (EuxTb1–x)2ftp3·6H2O, and (EuxTb1–x)2ftp3(Phen)2·2H2O (Phen = o-phenanthroline) are obtained for the first time and studied in detail. Water solutions of the terbium and europium tetrafluoroterephthalates are successfully used for ink-jet security luminescent printing.
