Oligonuclear oxo complexes of titanium strongly bind to phenoxide ligands used as antibiotic medicines and can be used as models for drug-delivery vehicles. These compounds are not clusters; they transform into TiO2 nanoparticle aggregates, capped with ligands, when subjected to hydrolysis by water or pyrolysis.
