Dielectric Properties of CoCrFeO 4 Nano-powder Prepared by Solution Self Combustion Synthesis

Abstract The structural and dielectric properties of CoCrFeO 4 nanoparticles synthesized via solution combustion technique have been studied. The phase purity of the product has been ascertained via powder XRD analysis. The morphology and size of the ferrite has been studied using TEM and the particles size matches well with that obtained from XRD. The dielectric studies done on the samples indicate that dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent decrease with increase in frequency which can be attributed to space charge polarization. The dielectric loss vs. frequency curves recorded as a function of temperature show secondary maxima with a minimum in the negative side which shifts to the lower frequency side with increase in temperature. This helps in elucidating the conduction behaviour in these cobalt chromium ferrite particles.
