NixSy nanoparticles and their nanocomposite with carbon nanotubes synthesized by a modified hydrothermal method are used as efficient catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction at the water/1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) interface by using decamethylferrocene (DMFc) as a lipophilic electron donor.
