Bulking up: Platinum(0) complexes of the type [(NHC)Pt(dvtms)] (dvtms=divinyltetramethyldisiloxane) containing bulky N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands are catalytically active in the fully regio- and stereoselective dimerization of terminal acetylenes. These are the first platinum complexes active in this transformation.
