Yaping Chen Researcher, PhD Supervisor Nano-Immuno Laboratory in Brain Diseases and Cognitive Rehabilitation
Dr. Yaping Chen, Principal Investigator at the Oujiang Laboratory and Ph.D. supervisor, was selected for the National High-level Young Talents Program (2021) and the Zhejiang Provincial High-level Young Talents Program (2023). She received her Ph.D. in Immunology from the Faculty of Biomedical and Psychological Sciences, Monash University in 2017. From 2017 to 2023, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia. In November 2023, Dr. Chen joined the Oujiang Laboratory as a full-time researcher and established the Nano-Immunology Research Group. Her research focuses on integrating novel nanotechnologies with molecular biology and immunology to develop efficient and precise nano-injection techniques, and exploring their applications and mechanisms in gene editing and cell-based therapies. To date, Dr. Chen has published over 30 SCI papers in high-impact journals including Advanced Materials, Nature Protocols, Materials Today, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, and JACS, with 17 papers as first author, co-first author, or corresponding author. She has led seven research projects, including the Australian Research Council CTET Early Career Project, the Australia–Germany Joint Research Project, and a Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences commercial incubation project. She also holds two international patent applications. Her research has been featured by several media outlets (Monash News, CV News, etc.) and recognized with numerous awards, including: Outstanding Scientist Medal, International Association of Advanced Materials (2024) Best Presentation Award, Melbourne Biomedical Research Institute (2023) Monash Early Career Research Excellence Award (2021) Milstein Award, International Cytokine Conference (2017) DAAD Fellowship, Germany (2016) Young Investigator Award, Chinese Association for Biomedical Sciences in Australia (2015) Dr. Chen also serves as an invited reviewer for several prestigious journals, including Advanced Functional Materials and Science Advances.
