Recently, our research group actively participated in the 12th World Integrative Medicine Congress (WIMCO 2024), held from November 7 to 11, 2024, in Changsha, Hunan Province. The congress was organized by the Chinese Society of Integrative Medicine and hosted by the Hunan Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrative Medicine, Furong Laboratory, Xiangya School of Medicine of Central South University, Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Hunan Provincial Academy of Chinese Medicine. It was co-organized by Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Xiangya Second Hospital, Xiangya Third Hospital, the First and Second Affiliated Hospitals of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hunan Provincial Hospital of Integrative Medicine, Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital, and Hunan Cancer Hospital. The theme of the congress was “High-Quality Development of Integrative Medicine.”

The congress gathered experts and scholars from around the world in the field of integrative medicine to discuss cutting-edge topics on medical interdisciplinary innovation. Dr. Yaping Chen attended the congress together with two postdoctoral researchers, Usman and Cheryl. At the Pain Medicine Committee sub-session, the two postdocs delivered excellent presentations, sharing our group’s recent progress in nano drug delivery and cellular function regulation and their applications in pain-related research. Their reports received high praise from attending experts. This participation greatly strengthened the collaboration between our research group and clinical medicine.
