主要研究方向是肿瘤微环境中的能量代谢和自噬以及肿瘤免疫耐受在肿瘤特别是在肺癌中的作用机制。先后主持国家级及省部级科研项目10余项，公开发表学术论文150余篇，SCI收录论文80余篇，其中第一和通讯作者SCI收录论文40篇，Google学术引用次数3900次以上，单篇最高引用次数315次。授权国家发明专利1项，省级科技进步成果奖3项。2020年被病理柳叶刀评为全国病理学专家国际学术论文影响力百强排名的第74名。
获奖及荣誉
2022年湖北省教学成果三等奖（第五）；2021年获得武汉大学2020年“挑战杯”大学生创新创业竞赛 优秀指导教师；2019年湖北省科技进步二等奖（第二）；2015年获得湖北省科技进步三等奖（第三）；2005年获得浙江省科技进步三等奖（第四）。
