Work in my research group focuses on three main areas:
1) exploration of a newly discovered [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement in which O-allyl nitronic esters are thermally converted to γ,δ-unsaturated nitro compounds;
2) development and exploitation of a carbon-based hemiacetal mimic; and
3) exploration of cycloaddition reactions involving nitroethylene derivatives and novel nitrile oxides.
