个人简介

Dr. George Pachev completed his undergraduate education at the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, and a doctorate in psychology from UBC. He brings to the field of health professions education a strong background in research methodology, statistics, testing, and educational measurement. He has spent more than 16 years in the UBC Faculty of Medicine in various leadership roles related to assessment including head, Assessment Research and Development. George joined the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in December 2013 to develop and implement comprehensive assessment programs for the Faculty’s professional degree curricula. He also leads and supports faculty development initiatives and scholarship related to assessment. Dr. Pachev’s areas of teaching interest include testing, measurement, assessment, research methodology, and statistics. He has a keen interest in faculty development including leading practical sessions on educational assessment topics such as item development, examination development (including OSCE, practice and simulation-based examinations), and standard-setting.
