Dr Imbabi's diverse and varied research activities have something in common. Without exception, they are driven by the urgent imperatives of energy efficiency, clean energy supply, the sustainable, affordable use of materials, the need for new, functionally enhanced low carbon materials and improved quality of life in the built environment. This currently translates into more than 10 areas of research grouped under 3 main headings.
