He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of organic chemistry in 2007 at the Department of Chemistry, Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China). Subsequently, he was relocated to the Pharmaceutical College, Zhejiang University where he pursued research in the field of Medicinal Chemistry as a Post-doc research fellow, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. In 2011, he moved his lab to the Ocean College, Zhejiang University where he was promoted as a full Professor. He is now engaged in a range of projects related to the discovery of new natural products from the sea. Projects vary from stress-driven discovery of bioactive natural products from extreme marine environment - hydrothermal vent, evaluation of microbial diversity of unique marine habitats to the development of new ways of culture and molecular methods to access cryptic natural product biosynthetic pathways, development of new approaches to purify and characterize polysaccharides, characterization of toxin to the research of metabonomics. Bin Wu est né en Zhejiang (Chine). Il a obtenu son doctorat dans le domaine de la chimie organique en 2007 au Département de Chimie, Université de Zhejiang (Hangzhou, Chine). Il a ensuite été transféré au collège pharmaceutique, Université de Zhejiang où il a poursuivi ses recherches dans le domaine de la chimie médicinale comme Boursier de recherche post-doctorale, professeur adjoint et professeur agrégé. En 2011, il s’est consacré au collège océanique, Université de Zhejiang ou il s’est engagé dans differents projets liés à la découverte de nouveaux produits naturels de la mer. Il a rejoint le groupe du Professeur Johannes F. Imhoff en Mikrobiologie Marine, GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel (Kiel, Allemagne, 10.2012-10.2013) comme visiteur scientifique, où il a travaillé sur les antibiotiques, les agents anti-cancéreux et d’autres produits naturels dans differents champignons marins. Il a également rejoint les navires de recherche en tant que chimiste (Océan Atlantique, 2012; l'océan Indien, 2015). Son laboratoire bénéficie des collaborations fructueuses avec des industries locales et étrangères ainsi qu’avec des groupes de recherche universitaires et gouvernementaux. Il forme parti dans le comité de rédaction de nombreuses revues internationales.
