个人简介

Dr Bochmann studied for her BSc in Chemistry and her PhD at Bristol University. Her PhD research concerned topics of synthetic organometallic chemistry under the supervision of Prof F.G.A. Stone. Following this, Dr Bochmann was awarded a Royal Society European Exchange Fellowship and carried out postdoctoral research at Marburg University, Germany, on metal cluster chemistry. On return to the UK she joined Unilever Central Research, first in London and subsequently in Port Sunlight, where she studied aspects of the physical chemistry of aerosols and was Head of Aerosol Research. Dr Bochmann then decided to pursue a second career in veterinary medicine and completed a BVSc degree in Veterinary Science at Liverpool University, where she was awarded several University undergraduate prizes and the Pathology prize. She subsequently worked as a veterinary surgeon in Merseyside and Norwich. Following several years of raising a family and finding veterinary practice incompatible with bringing up a young family, Dr Bochmann studied for a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (secondary) at UEA and subsequently taught chemistry and biology at GCSE and A Level for 10 years in Norfolk High Schools and became a Head of Chemistry. Dr Bochmann joined UEA in 2007 as a Teaching Fellow of the Science with Foundation Year course, where she taught Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for Scientists. She completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice at UEA, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr Bochmann is the module organiser for the chemistry modules and the chemistry-based maths modules of the Science Foundation Year and teaches chemistry on BSc and MChem undergraduate courses.
