个人简介

My research investigates the independent and interactive impact of select dietary components (in particular n-3 fatty acids and flavonoids) and common gene variants on cardio-metabolic health. More recently we have also focussed on age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. APOE represents the maingenotype of interest, focussed on gaining an understanding of the aetiology of genotype-health/disease associations, and the impact of APOE genotype on response to dietary change. Having completed my first degree in Nutrition and Biochemistry at University College Cork (Ireland), I moved to the UK to complete my PhD. I have been based here ever since apart from a one year stay at Auckland Medical School (NZ). I enjoy, the outdoors and sports of all varieties, good food and books, and people and places.
