Claire graduated from UCLan in 2004 with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic science and Criminology. Whilst studying this degree she became interested in fraud and document analysis and returned to the university to complete a Masters degree by research in Document Analysis in 2007. She is now studying part-time for a PhD whilst lecturing in the department. Whilst studying for her MSc degree she worked with the Netherlands Forensic Institute on a project to discriminate between paper samples using different analytical techniques including TLC, HPLC, XRF, XRD, IRMS and Raman. Following on from this Claire started a PhD to investigate the chemistry and ageing processes of inks and will complete this in 2013
