Biomimetic and Nanochemistry Lab was found in 2002 under the leadership of Prof. Shu-Hong Yu. The laboratory has long been engaged in the biomimetic synthesis, assembly and functional application of inorganic and composite materials, and published more than 430 papers in international journals such as Science, Nat. Mater., Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Catal., Sci. Adv., Nat, Commun., Chem. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem. Soc. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater. etc, with 56,400 citations, and H factor 132.
Prof. Shu-Hong Yu was elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019.
Prof. Yu received the Second National Medal for Innovation in 2020.
