Yifei Yuan
Professor
College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, Wenzhou University
Yifei Yuan is now a professor at the College of Chemistry & Materials Engineering, Wenzhou University, China. He obtained his Ph.D. from Michigan Technological University and held a research assistant professor position at University of Illinois, jointly with Argonne National Laboratory Yuan conducts research on fundamental studies of electrochemical energy storage materials. He investigates local atomic and nanometric structure-property correlations to elucidate design principles for advanced energy materials by rational syntheses, advanced characterization, and integration of material engineering strategies. Particularly, his background covers the following areas:
1. Fundamentals of material (electro)chemistry and interfacial sciences
2. In situ transmission electron microscopy
3. Advanced nanomaterials/nanostructures for next-generation energy storage devices
He has published more than 150 papers in journals like Nature Energy, Nature Sustainability, Nature Communications, etc., and his H-index is 58. He is also the reviewer of journals such as Nat. Energy, ACS Nano, Nano Energy , etc. He has been invited multiple times to present research work in international conferences like ECS meeting and EEST meeting, and won the “K.M. Abraham Travel Award” at the 236th ECS meeting in Atlanta, US, 2019 (two winners annually). He was in the List of Innovators Under 35 (Asia Pacific, 2021) issued by 《MIT Technology Review》.
Kun He
Associate Professor
College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, Wenzhou University
Kun He is an associate professor at the College of Chemistry & Materials, Wenzhou University, China. She obtained Ph.D from University of Illinois at Chicago and then after one year postdoc research associate at Northwestern University, Evanston, she got a research associate position in NUANCE center, Materials Science and Engineering department at Northwestern University at Evanston. Kun got Master and bachelor’s degree from Shandong University. She is very interested in in-situ liquid/gas study by advanced microscopy and nano/atomic level characterization of materials. Kun’s current research focuses on the synthesis and atomic-scale characterization of multifunctional materials with an emphasis on probing atomic-scale structure, dynamic progress, and properties of material interfaces and nanostructures under controlled boundary conditions and environments. Her goal is to obtain a fundamental understanding of the atomic level structure-property relationships of nanoengineered materials, especially oxide heterostructures, battery materials, biomaterials, and nanocatalysts. Kun has published 37 SIC papers, including several high impact journals such as: Science Advances, Nano Energy, Nano letter, Chem, Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie.

Jie Xu
Distinguished Professor
College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, Wenzhou University
Jie Xu is an Oujiang Distinguished Professor at Wenzhou University. The research direction is to explore the structure-activity relationship between the atomic structure of the surface of energy catalysts and their catalytic performance based on electron microscopy, and then analyze the active origin of catalysts. In June 2016, he graduated from the School of Materials Science and Technology of Tianjin University of Technology, and then studied for master's and doctoral degrees, during which he systematically learned and operated a variety of spherical aberration correction electron microscopes and in situ electron microscopy, and was good at synthesizing new energy electrocatalytic materials, and was proficient in using various electrochemical test platforms. He obtained his doctorate degree in December 2020 (the first doctoral student to graduate early, supervisor: Professor Luo Jun). In January 2021, he joined the Institute of Functional Nano and Soft Matter of Soochow University as a lecturer, and was selected as an outstanding young scholar of Soochow University in the same year. In January 2023, he joined the School of Chemical and Materials Engineering of Wenzhou University, and successively served as an associate professor, an Oujiang distinguished professor, and was selected as an expert in the library of Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau. In the past three years, he has published more than 40 academic papers in international journals such as Nature Catal., he has cited more than 1800 times, and his personal H factor is 21. Among them, the first or corresponding author (including co-authors) in Nature Commun. (3 articles), Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc.、 Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and other internationally renowned journals have published more than 10 academic papers. He has been invited to review international academic journals for many times, and has presided over projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
