Our research focuses on fundamental studies of electrochemical energy storage materials. We investigate local atomic and nanometric structure-property correlations to elucidate design principles for advanced energy materials by rational syntheses, advanced characterization, and integration of material engineering strategies. Particularly, our research covers the following areas:

        Fundamentals of material (electro)chemistry and interfacial sciences

       • Advanced nanomaterials/nanostructures for next-generation energy storage devices      

       • Advanced in situ electron microscopic methods for energy material study
