Xuchen Shan
Associate Professor
Upconversion Nanoparticles Optical Trapping and Manipulation
Xuchen Shan, Associate Professor at the School of Physics, Beihang University. Since obtaining his Ph.D. in 2017, he has been engaged in research on upconversion nanomaterials and optical tweezers. He has conducted biophotonics research in Dayong Jin group at the University of Technology Sydney, and Professor Fan Wang group at Beihang University. He was appointed as a Beihang University Distinguished 100 Postdoctoral Fellow in 2022, promoted to Distinguished Faculty Postdoctoral Fellow in 2023, and appointed as Associate Professor in 2025. With 17 SCI publications to his credit, he has first-authored papers in Nature Nanotechnology and Nature Photonics, achieving a total h-index of 10. His work was honored as Chinese Top 10 Optical Breakthroughs (2024) and Chinese top 10 Social Impact Events in Optics. He has received the Postdoctoral International Exchange Program and Special Funding Program for China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and the Project supported by the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Additionally, he serves as Guest Editor for special issues of Sensors (2023) and Micromachines (2025).
