Research Team Led by Fan Wang at Beihang University’s School of Physics Develops Super-Resolved Photonic Force Microscopy
By integrating ionic resonance nanoprobes, optical 3D super-resolution localization, and machine learning, the team led by Prof. Fan Wang at Beihang University’s School of Physics has developed a super-resolved photonic force microscope (SRPFM). This breakthrough enables sub-femtonewton sensitivity force manipulation and sensing at the nanoscale thermodynamic limit in aqueous solutions.
This multidisciplinary study, titled “Sub-femtonewton force sensing in solution by super-resolved photonic force microscopy,” has been published in Nature Photonics. Beihang University is the sole corresponding affiliation.
The first authors of the paper are Assistant Prof. Xuchen Shan (Beihang University), Dr. Lei Ding (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), and Ph.D. candidate Dajing Wang (Beihang University). The corresponding authors are Prof. Fan Wang, Prof. Lingqian Chang, and Prof. Xiaolan Zhong.
