Prof Feng received her bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Fudan University in 1989 and earned her Ph.D. in Science from the Institute of High Energy Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998 (supervisor: Prof Zhifang Chai). Her doctoral dissertation was selected as a “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” in 2001.

She is currently a Professor at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a Principal Investigator in the CAS Key Laboratory for Nanosafety and Nanotoxicology.

She has received several major awards, including:

• the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2012, fourth contributor) for “Safety Study of Nanomaterials”;

• the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award (2008, sixth contributor) for “Health Effects and Safety of Nanomaterials”; and

• the Chinese Academy of Sciences Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award (2019, as a key member of the Nano–Bio Effects and Safety Research Group)
