Zhigang Hu

AI for Energy Materials (AIEM)
Zhigang Hu is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Center of Hydrogen Science of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Based on a AI+Energy Materials (AIEM) paradigm, he is working on the synthesis of porous materials and metal nanocatalysts for solid-state sorptive hydrogen storage and purification, carbon dioxide capture and conversion, hydrogen and ammonia energy conversion. He has been listed as the Shanghai Leading Talent (Overseas), Shanghai Pujiang Talent, and "World's Top 2% Scientists List (2021-2024)". As a supervisor, he has won the Gold Medal of 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition and Second Prize of 2023 National "Yuanchuang Cup" Competition. He has published 80 papers in Chem Soc Rev, Energy Environ Sci, Mater Sci Eng R, etc., with a total of more than 8000 citations. He has authored 3 book chapters of "Metal Organic Framework Materials Heterogeneous Catalysts for Biomass Conversion", "Hydrogen Storage Technology using Liquid Hydrogen-containing Compounds", and “Advanced Mg-based energy storage materials and systems”. He serves as the Deputy Editor of Adsorption, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Chemical Engineering, and Editorial Board Member of Membranes and Materials Today Sustainability.
