Ph.D. and Research Assistant Application Requirements
(3–4 new Ph.D. positions for the 2025 cohort)
Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry/Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, Life Sciences, Medicine, or related fields;
Proficient in at least one experimental technique related to the team's research areas (e.g., organic/polymer synthesis, cellular and molecular biology, disease immunology, animal disease models, development and testing of flexible medical devices, etc.);
Prior publication of SCI-indexed papers in relevant fields is preferred;
Outstanding academic record, integrity, diligence, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to work collaboratively in a team;
Excellent Chinese communication skills and good English reading and writing ability.
Postdoctoral Fellowship Application Requirements and Compensation
(Applications accepted year-round)
Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Materials Science, Nanomaterials Science, Biomedicine, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Basic Medicine, Flexible Medical Devices/Mechanical Engineering, or related fields;
Independent research ability and innovative research mindset, with prior publications in SCI-indexed journals;
Applicants with industrial R&D experience or interest in translational research are also welcome;
Outstanding academic record, integrity, diligence, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to work collaboratively in a team;
Under 35 years old and within three years of obtaining a Ph.D.; or recent Ph.D. graduates who have passed their thesis defense and meet the postdoctoral management regulations of South China University of Technology (SCUT);
Full-time appointment for two years at SCUT;
Salary: Starting from RMB 350,000 per year, up to over RMB 470,000 annually (for graduates from overseas universities ranked in the global top 200, annual salary reaches RMB 470,000); university covers employer-side social insurance contributions; research start-up funding of RMB 200,000 provided;
Housing and Education: Low-cost rental of 80 m² apartments on campus; access to excellent affiliated kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools; and free public healthcare provided by the university;
Provincial and Municipal Policies: Enjoy priority services in social security, immigration, healthcare, transportation, and other areas supported by Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City;
Additional Benefits:
Postdocs staying in Guangdong after completing their term are eligible for a resettlement allowance of RMB 200,000–500,000 (signing a three-year contract with a Guangdong employer);
Those selected for the Guangdong Overseas Talent Introduction Program can receive an additional RMB 400,000 resettlement allowance;
Eligible for senior professional title evaluations between 18 months after entry and one year post-departure;
Opportunity to apply for teaching and research positions or full-time research positions at SCUT after completing the postdoctoral term.
