Shyh-Chang NgChinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China

Shyh-Chang Ng is a Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology, Institute of Zoology and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained his B.Sc. (summa cum laude) from Princeton University and Ph.D. from Harvard University. After his stint as an independent Fellow and Principal Investigator at the Genome Institute of Singapore, he joined the Institute of Zoology with a Thousand Young Talent award. He was one of the early pioneers in stem cell metabolism, with a focus on stem cells’ metabolic programming during tissue regeneration and aging, especially in muscles. For his work in regenerative biology, he has received support from the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), the VcanBio Prize for Medicine, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) International Scholar award.

Ling Wu, InVitro Cell Research, LLC, Englewood, NJ, USA

Dr. Ling Wu is working as a senior scientist in a biotech company based in the New York metropolitan area. He is leading an R&D program to develop an injectable stem cell-based product to treat osteoarthritis. He uses bioreactor and FACS (fluorescence-activated cell sorting) to manufacture the cells that lay down the extracellular matrix. He is also in charge of a program to develop products to treat peripheral nerve degeneration. In the third program, he is leading to develop an immune-modulatory treatment based on MSC derived extracellular vesicles. In his scientific career, he authored more than 40 papers on peer-reviewed journals. His H-index is 23, and his papers were cited for about 2000 times.
