Zhiqiang Niu is a Professor at College of Chemistry, Nankai University. He received his PhD degree from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010 under the supervision of Prof. Sishen Xie. After his postdoctoral research in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore, co-supervisor: Prof.Xiaodong Chen), he started his independent research career as Hundred Young Academic Leaders of Nankai University since 2014. He has been awarded the National Youth Thousand Talents of China (2015), Granted National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (2018) and the Tianjin Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2018). He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal papers and 3 book chapters.

研究领域

Our current research interests focus on the unconventional energy storage devices from nanocarbon-based electrode materials to device configurations. The fabrication of electrode materials is mainly centered on the assembling technologies of macroscopic nanostructured electrodes with different dimensions based on carbon nanotubes, graphene, and their composites. The configurational design of advanced energy storage devices (e.g. supercapacitors, lithium-sulfur and zinc-ion batteries ) mainly include : flexible, micro-, stretchable, compressible, transparent and fiber structures.
