个人简介

Dr. McMurtry is a clinician scientist and Associate Professor at the University of Alberta and Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia (‘94), medical school at Dalhousie University (’98), Internal Medicine and Cardiology postgraduate training, including a PhD, at the University of Alberta (‘06), and a Vascular Medicine fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston (‘07). His clinical interests and expertise include non-invasive general cardiology and vascular medicine. He currently serves as a Medical Director of the Anticoagulant Management Service at the University of Alberta, and maintains an active thoracic aortic disease program. Dr. McMurtry is engaged in basic and clinical research projects studying coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, venous thromboembolism, and thoracic aortic disease. Dr. McMurtry holds peer reviewed funding from both the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and currently serves as the chair of the CCS Guidelines Committee.
