个人简介

Dr Noel Gibney graduated from University College Dublin Medical School. He trained in Internal Medicine and Renal and Metabolic Medicine in Dublin, in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Alberta, and in Critical Care Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He was Zone Clinical Department Head for Critical Care from 1995-2012 and Director of the Division of Critical Care Medicine from 2002-2012. He practices as an Intensivist in the GSICU at the University of Alberta Hospital. He is a Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Medicine. He has been awarded the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and has been active in global health initiatives in Kosovo, Cuba, Haiti and Guyana. Dr Gibney’s research interests include the epidemiology and management of acute kidney injury in the critically ill and information technology in the critical care unit. He has participated in the Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative (ADQI) and the Acute Kidney Injury Network (AKIN). He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, numerous book chapters, and peer-reviewed for over 20 medical journals. He is recognized nationally as a leader in critical care nephrology.
