研究领域

Biomedical Engineering

We are interested in biomimetics which is the application of systems found in nature to the study and design of engineered systems. Recently we are developing a novel adhesive for biomedical applications inspired by the mussel adhesive molecules known to possess powerful adhesion capability even in the presence of water. This has a lot of potentials for application such as medical bio-adhesive, drug delivery, surface modification for cell therapy, super hydrophobic/hydrophilic surface and so on. Research topics - Generalized strategy for functionalization of any material surfaces inspired by mussel adhesion - Adhesive anti-bacterial, anti-fungal compounds - Nanoparticle synthesis - Protein therapeutics - Development of synthetic gecko adhesives - Biointerphases
