A matter of state! The fluorescent behaviour of self-assembling amyloid-like peptides is dependent on the physical state of the sample. The detection of a linear dependence of the fluorescence emission peaks as a function of excitation wavelength occurs at solid state. Differently, in solution an excitation-independent emission peak is observed.
