ABSTRACT A cultural process that involves transactions between different social groups, with the poor selling their own sons to the rich, to become instruments of pleasure and entertainment for ceremonies and festive occasions. A culturally imposed and permitted transformation that impacts the construction of the boy’s social and sexual identity, which remains marked and unchanged, as he is converted into a subject by feminine movements and resemblances. A role that forces the boy into a dual function as entertainment and an object of sexual pleasure. A new social role culturally legitimised by a society that is deeply divided between poor and elite classes and control, over which prevails the demands of a violent and deeply-rooted tradition that safeguards the stability and maintenance of the founding values.
