After nutrients are absorbed by the small intestine, they carry a large number of high-energy electrons into hepatocytes, which affects the redox stress of the liver and further causes the imbalance of glucose and lipid metabolism of the host. Rebalancing the redox state of hepatocytes, excavating the metabolic root of hepatocyte metabolic imbalance and analyzing the metabolic interaction between hepatocytes and microenvironment will be conducive to the prevention and treatment of liver metabolic diseases. On the other hand, with the development of science and technology and the continuous development of scientists, nutritional intervention in the treatment of metabolic diseases will lead to a new era. Intermittent starvation therapy, amino acid restriction, ketogenic diet and other clinical treatment methods are constantly showing their effectiveness and superiority in basic research and clinical trials. Exploring the mechanism of the effect of nutritional intervention on diseases and the synergistic effect between nutritional intervention and clinical drugs will promote the clinical application of nutritional intervention and further improve the quality of life of patients.
